Charles and Grace met August 2016 in Waco, Texas. He was working at the apartment building Grace lived in, and also lived a couple doors down. They were introduced by a mutual friend and were inseparable until he left for boot camp at the end of March 2017.

Before Charles left, he gave Grace her sweet Jojo to take care of since they would be apart for two months. Little did they know that two months would turn into about a year and a half! They saw each other about every two months, flying back and forth between Texas and Delaware. This was a difficult but fruitful time for the couple! They learned to thrive alone while still building each other up. In July 2018, Charles flew down to Texas and they took a week-long trip with Grace's family in Lake City, Colorado. They had a wonderful time, being tucked away in a quiet little town in the mountains. In the middle of a huge family Jeep ride through the mountains, they stopped at the top of one mountain with a breathtaking view! Everyone got out and started taking pictures, and he popped the question!

After the trip to Colorado, the couple drove to Longview, Texas where Charles's family lives to spread the news of their engagement and marriage plans. Charles and Grace had both discussed getting married quick and then having a big wedding party in the spring. They got married on August 6th, 2018 by Pastor Dwight Murray, the same pastor that married Charles's parents.

About a month later, Grace moved to Dover, Delaware to join Charles.

Now, they are settling into their life together at Dover Air Force Base. Grace is substituting during the week. Charles works as a Financial Manager in the Air Force, and they are both taking classes in the evening. They have adopted another fur baby on December 27th, 2018. A sweet chocolate lab Cooper who fits into their family perfectly and loves to play with his "big sister" Jojo.

They are excited to make a lifetime of memories together, wherever the military & life takes them!
